RFID Device Stores Complete Medical Information In Emergencies




Asahi Kasei, Japan-based chemical and technology company, has a gadget that provides easy access to medical information about a specific person, when the lives of paramedics, emergency doctors and patients much easier.

The Company uses the FeliCa smart card technology that is widely used in mobile services in Japan and major PC manufacturers to develop an RFID card that stores all the medical data of a person. During an emergency, doctors and paramedical release devices with FeliCa against RFID cards to instantly see all the medical information of its own, such as blood type, date of birth, etc. It can also contain links that can lead to large files that radiological images.

The device measures only 3 x 3 inches. Asahi Kasei plans to commercialize the technology over the years, with a suggested retail price of $ 25 each.
